Bodal Chemicals is planning to set up a chemical unit in Sakhya GIDC in Vagra Tehsil in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project involves setting up of a greenfield manufacturing plant to produce chlor alkali (24,000 tpa), chlorine gas (21,625 tpa), hydrogen gas (600 tpa), sulphuric acid (935 tpa), hydrochloric acid (22, 500 tpa) and sodium hypochlorite (5,200 tpa). It will also produce mono chloro benzene, nitro chloro benzene among other synthetic organic chemicals.
The project also involves setting up a captive cogeneration power generation plant of 120 MW. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 11,700 million.
