ITC Ltd is planning to set up a nicotine manufacturing division in its production facility in Immavu industrial area in Nanjanagud taluk, Mysuru, Karnataka. The project involves setting up of production facility for nicotine and nicotine bitartrate dihydrate with an investment of ₹ 2650 million. This is the first pure nicotine production plant for the entire country.
As of November 2020, the project is in planning stage.
