Incorporated in 1971, Sodium Metal Private Limited (SMPL) was initially involved in manufacturing sodium metal and nuclear grade liquid sodium metal. However, driven by regulatory changes in 1996, the company transitioned into the production of drug intermediates. For the past 17 years, the company has been manufacturing drug intermediates, fine and speciality chemicals for the pharmaceutical and perfume industries. SMPL’s registered office and manufacturing facility are at GIDC Nandesari in Baroda (Gujarat). Currently, the company is closely managed by the Kapasi family, with Mr. Ketan Kapasi being its managing director.
