Laxmi Organics Industries Limited (LOIL), a Goenka Group flagship company, was established in 1989 with the objective to setup alcohol based chemical plants. LOIL started up a plant to manufacture Acetic Acid with an installed capacity of 6,900 metric tonnes per annum (TPA) at Mahad (Maharashtra) and its commercial production commenced in 1991. Subsequently, the company expanded over the years in terms of volumes as well as broader product range such as Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Alcohol and Diketene derivatives.
Currently, LOIL is the one of the largest manufacturers of Ethyl Acetate in India and enjoys a 20-25% market share in the indigenous Ethyl Acetate space with partial access to captively produced raw material – Ethyl Alcohol, while it has discontinued production of Acetic Acid. It has a manufacturing capacity of 45 KLPD of Ethyl Alcohol, 100000 TPA of Ethyl Acetate and 10000 TPA of Diketene derivatives.
