Grasim industries is planning to expand its Caustic Soda plant in Balabadrapuram in Rangampeta in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves expanding Membrane Cell based Caustic Soda (from 400 TPD to 1000 TPD), Chlorine Derivative Chemicals (from 350 TPD to 720 TPD) and Installation of Membrane Cell based Caustic Potash Plant (100 TPD) Chloromethanes (150 TPD), Carbon Tetrachloride (70 TPD), Chlorofluorocarbons (50 TPD). The project cost is estimated at 2,450 crores.
