Birla Cellulose plans expansion programme

Birla Cellulose – a unit of Grasim Industries Ltd of Aditya Birla group is planning an expansion programme at its unit in Birladham in Kosamba in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project involves expanding capacity of viscose staple fibre from 127750 tpa to 233600 tpa, sulphuric acid from 146000 tpa to 219000 tpa, carbon di-sulphide from 21600 tpa to 37295 tpa. The project also involves increasing captive power plant capacity from 25 MW to 45 MW. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 18000 million.
