Sodium bicarbonate is a vital ingredient in the production of effervescent antacids, analgesic tablets and powders, vitamin supplements, injectable powders, toothpaste and antacid gel formulations. It is also used as a buffering agent, providing bicarbonate ions to balance the pH during blood purification.
